Welcome to the K2 Partner Community
We're happy to have you as part of the extended K2 team. Whether you're a sales or technical person, this section includes all of the information you need to get started being successful with K2.
As a technical person, your organization looks to you to be the expert in all things K2. The roadmap below will help you get there faster. Follow the step by step guide to get up to speed – Fast!
Being successful with K2 is highly dependent on having a strong Microsoft foundation. If you are not very familiar with Microsoft technologies, before you begin with the K2 Technical Path it’s important to make sure you brush up on your Microsoft skills. K2 has compiled a list of additional
Microsoft resources that should be a prerequisite before you begin your K2 learning.
With a solid foundation in Microsoft technologies, you are ready to begin learning all about K2. The first step is to participate in the
K2 Solutions Professional course. K2 Solutions Professional is the first in a new range of K2 Official Learning Resources aimed at enabling professionals to build enterprise solutions on the K2 platform. Our goal with the K2 Solutions Professional learning resource is to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for individuals who want to build their career on servicing K2 products and K2 powered solutions.

Additional technical readiness materials are available in the Learning Center section of this site.
In any K2 project, the first thing you will need to do is install the software. Before you show up at a customer site, here are several ways that you can learn about how to install K2 software:
1. Listen to the How To K2: Partner Edition session on
K2 Installation Services. This webcast demonstrates the methodology the K2 Services team uses when planning a K2 installation at a customer site. It provides insight into what K2 does as part of the infrastructure engagement, what needs to be in place before that engagement and the requirements during the engagement.
2. Do your own K2 installation. Instructions for installing in both a single server or multi-server environment can be found
here.
3. Create your own VPC
K2 creates several virtual machines for use by our employees, customers and partners. To request a VPC, complete the VPC request form and we will ship one to you. However, building your own VPC utilizing your TechNet or MSDN keys to activate the VHD permitting allows you to have a VPC that does not expire and provides another way to practice your installation skills.
A full build document is available for each core that K2 has created. They include details on the products installed, the order they were installed, and all configuration settings. This document can assist when it is necessary to build a virtual machine with similar configurations.
